Golf Tuition Breaks and Holidays

Having spent the last few months waiting to find out if I have a game on the tour I have launched into another aspect of professional golf.

With the fantastic connections I have made in Spain over the last two years I am organising golf tuition breaks on the Costa de la Luz, a delightful area on the Spanish Portuguese border (half an hour from Faro).

The courses are fantastic and I have secured the lowest greenfees. The hotels are beautiful and I have negotiated the best deals on rooms. I know the area and all the attractions, it's the perfect place to play golf in the sun.

All trips can be tailor made for small groups of four - to upwards of twelve.

If you are interested you can contact me directly on hoskison51@hotmail.com or visit www.golfluz.webs.com to see the travel agent I have dealings with.

Golfluz.webs is a small personal company with local connections, the owner of which is a keen golfer and friend of mine.

If you fancy a trip away in the sun contact me to see what fantastic deals we can offer. We're talking serious deals on greenfees!!

We already have a trip organised for March next year which Nick Mitchell from Newbury and I will be organising. It's going to be great fun and a completely stress free week for our clients. This is five star treatment with the best possible prices!!

Irish Seniors Open (Not!!)

Hi there,

Just thought I'd keep you in touch with my schedule, or lack of it! Was third reserve for Ireland at seven this morning - someone dropped out and I got 'the call' at ten. Would I like to go to Ireland as first reserve?

The expense for only a possible game, and then having to play Ballybunnion blind was a no brainer. Matt Briggs did that in Mallorca and blew 500 quid.

So a week off. Frustrating!! However, I'm writing like a fanatic for Suite101, Read the latest artice I wrote this morning, it's slightly wacky!

Will be in touch soon!

Son Gual Open Result

Hi there,

Arrived back from Mallorca late last night. I've never been to the Spainish Island before, the amount of holiday makers was incredible. I tried running on the road next to the beach everyday and it was like making my way through the pack!

Result 74- 73 -73 = +4 38th approx 1500 Euro (just enough to pay the bills and Myras caddie fees!) Mark James won the tournament in a play off with Eamonn Darcy.

The course Son Gual was fantastic, fast undulating greens, well positioned bunkers and lots of water. I will be interested to see my stats for the week on the European Tour Web site on the Son Gual results page. I know I was 3rd in driving accuracy and 7th in distance on the frist day.

I was also well up on greens in regulation, but I'm sure I will be too low down when it comes to putting. Although I didn't three putt once, I missed too many from fifteen feet - don't think I could take another lip out!!

Next European Seniors event is Ireland (Ballybunion) and I find out if I'm playing on Friday when the entries close.

Will keep you posted.

Son Gual Seniors Open

Bank Holiday Monday

With only four days to go before I stand on the first tee in Majorca it's time for last minute preparation. It's too late to work on any part of my long game, the hours have been put in over the last two months - it's time for fine tuning and short game work - and packing!

Just looked up the weather for the weekend, sunny and warm so no need for sweaters, perhaps I will be able to wear the shirts I bought last year that never had an airing...too wet!

Myra's on the bag this week, not her first time, we finished 28th last year at Stoke by Nayland (Yes - where I was fined for 'club abuse'). Every week I see much worse than my only loss of temper in the year. Can't believe I was reported.

If you can stand it, have a look at live scoring which you can access on the link above, and check out my latest articles on Suite101.com. Apart from practising I've used my spare time to write (furiously - 40 articles to date). Mainly about golf, but other topics as well. You can access the site on this link for all my articles http://www.suite101.com/profile.cfm/johnhoskison or go to my web site where there's a link to the last three.

After the Son Gual Open I will post all the news on this blog, and will let you know what's happening on the Seniors Tour.

Any questions you have about golf please ask - might even write an article about it!
